Perfect for afternoon hikes Aug 23, 2007

This pack provides an excellent balance of water and item storage. While it may not be enough for a multiple-day outing, it is more than enough for a half-day jaunt into the wilderness. It is not too heavy and very comfortable.

I bought this backpack because I was looking for a small backpack to use while motorcycling. I wasn't really interested in the camel-back aspect of it, and still haven't used it that way. May never actually do so. But it works great as a small day pack, with enough space to carry a clear shield for my helmet (so I can swap out the tinted one when it gets dark), my cell phone, camera, somewhere to store extra shirts as I remove layers when the temperature heats up during the day, my cable lock, and other odds & ends I carry with me.
The chest strap is a nice feature, as is the slim profile of the back pack. I had concerns before I ordered it that the waist strap wouldn't be long enough to go around my riding jacket, but that was not an issue at all. I can barely tell I'm wearing it, which was a little unnerving at first and I had to keep checking to make sure it was still there.
Overall a great little backpack. When the Florida heat really kicks in this year, I may just try out the hydration pouch for longer rides.

Good product. Very usefull. You can take the water tank out to fill it or when you dont need water. It has other pocket so you can store some things even when it is a cammel bag, or when you take the tank out you can store things in that pocket.
I only would add a lock between the arms so it is well locked while doing sports. Other than that, it has been working fine since I bouth it.

I have bought two of these bags so far. One fore my girlfriend last year and one for her sister this year. Both of them love them. They said the bags are very comfortable even on all day hikes. The bags have more then enough space for a day pack. A normal trip to the mountains includes meals, snacks, spare clothes, gear... The hydration packs work great and actually stay cool quite a while. The other benefit is the location of the bladder. Its right in the middle of the back so the weight is as close to the back as possible. My girlfriend said it also helps her back stay cool.

It is big enough to carry what I need on day hikes and small enough to be comfortable and light. Just right.
