Good Overall May 28, 2010 I have purchased 3 pairs of these over the last 5 years. The boots last about 2 years under everyday use. Usually the sole starts to separate from the shoe first which causes them to leak. I work as an HVAC service tech and go in and out constantly. In the summer I need a boot that is waterproof yet has no additional insulation to make my feet hot. These boots are perfect because they use the Gortex material but are not insulated for winter use. No steel toes and good flexibility make these boots great for bending down without hurting your feet. As mentioned in a different review, the tread on the bottom is fairly flat which helps keep a better amount of the debris off my boots.
I plan on purchasing another pair here in the next few months.

HUGE at least 2 sizes bigger! Jun 16, 2009 These boots are nice. I ordered the black pair for my husband *who is in Iraq right now* from Zappos. As soon as I took the size 10 out of the box I was like WTF is this the wrong size but NOPE it was a size 10 that looked like a size 11 or 12!
Since my husband isn't here to try them own, I measured the boot and it was the length of my ruler ((12 INCHES)) I couldn't believe it so I held it against a pair of DH size 10.5 shoes OMG it was almost 2 inches bigger!
So please take this info. into consideration when ordering these boots. They are nice and sturdy looking but boy are they BIG! I ordered a half size smaller knowing that clarks tend to run big but D----!
I guess i will try a size 9 when they go on sale...

good but be aware of this Mar 07, 2009 As others stated and from my long life experience with Clarks products, this has all the high qualities you would expect from such reputable brand so I'll move straight to the "con".
I usually wear 10.5-11 and based on what an earlier poster suggested I purchased the 10.5
After 2 weeks of wearing it, I started to have quite a bit of pain on both lateral (outside part) sides of my ankles where even light touch to the area was painful. I quit using the boots and the pain went away within a week. I tried it again and the pain came back. Even though the friction while wearing the boots isn't intense enough to be a bother, it's clearly enough to cause long lasting effect. This is very unfortunate as I was really counting on it for more frequent use. Now it has moved to the side of the shoe rack for the occasional use when it's a must that I have boots (like mud or snow) and for only a brief time. I tried size 11 at the store and it felt too big. Hope my experience is unique and that others are enjoying it better. Would love to hear your experience and if I know for sure this won't happen with a larger size (which I doubt since it's only the top of the boots that is a bother), then I'm willing to buy another one.

Great Clarks Boot Mar 04, 2009 This is a great casual boot. The Clark's quality is there and there is a bonus...the sole is flat and won't track in all of the outdoors like a pineapple sole will. Great fit and looks great!

Excellent boot Jul 18, 2008 I owned a black pair of these boots, and liked them so much that I bought an additional brown pair.
The first thing to know about the Clarks brand is that they are between half a size and a size too large. If you are a size 12 normally, you will likely be most comfortable in a size 11 boot.
The black boots in particular look fantastic. I have been complimented on how nice they look by people who assumed they were dress shoes. The boots take cream polish well, but it does not stay on for long because the leather is soft. The brown boots in particular need re-polishing if you want them to continue looking their best. But, of course, the boots are more than sufficient without polish. Thus, as a fashion item, the boots are great.
As normal boots, they perform as well as can be expected, but you will probably like them too much to risk damaging them. So, buy them because they look good yet are durable, rather than for rugged labor.
