We have an older version of this tent with a gray rain fly instead of the red one. We've used the tent for three seasons now and overall have been very happy with it. It's great in storms and has never leaked. It's plenty big enough, with a living room you can use if it rains. It does take a while to set up, but once you've done it a couple of times it's not too bad. My primary beef is that the poles can bend and break if you are trying to set it up by yourself (hint: be sure to clip in the poles before raising the tent) and it's hard to find replacement poles, but I did find a set at Campmor; Coleman was no help at all. Overall a great car camping tent. I'll buy another if they change the color of the rain fly back to gray. :-)

I've only used it once, but so far it's held up well in wet weather. It's very spacious when assembled and very compact when packed. The first setup is a little complex but hopefully that gets easier with time. Would not want to have to set it up in the dark.

Great tent for a family outing Oct 11, 2006

Took this tent out this past weekend w/my 5yr son. He and I set it up in about 45 min. It took awhile to setup and get all the stakes in the ground (it was rocky). The tent is well designed and constructed but I do think it is a little complex to set up. Fortunately my son was able to hold the one end of the poles while I did the bending. I'm curious as to what the tent will be like after several uses. The poles seem to be bent to just about their max.
Regardless, this tent is a good buy for the money.

I set up my coleman family dome tent today and it was a piece of cake! (granted you have set up a tent before and you have a hand for the first time.) It is super huge, with standing room in the main section-6ft... I have seam sealed everything, even though it already was done by coleman. All of the reviews that I read before sold me on this tent, so I hope it pays off!
