decieving description Aug 02, 2005
By K. Solomon This is not an easy up unit it has to be put together every time.Putting the top on takes at least 2 people 10 minutes. The pictures show the top on the frame which is not the case. This same unit can be bought at Kmart or Target for half the money. If you are lokking for an easy up shade house look elsewhere.

Thumbs up Sep 23, 2005
By NC Oiler I purchased this unit as a semi-permanent screened porch to put behind my house. I looked around quite a bit for similar products, but thought this looked like the best choice. So far I have had it 2 weeks, and I think it is excellent.
The frame is sturdy and easy to set up. You really need two people to set it up (although I managed to do it alone with a little extra effort). The frame has several settings for height, so you can control how far the screen hangs down. The screen does not attach to the ground but can be tightly fitted around the frame to provide good coverage.
It is true that the roof isn't attached, but I don't understand why this is an issue. It doesn't add any difficulty in setup, and I think an attached roof would complicate disassembly and storage.
My unit has been through one rainstorm and has stood up well. But I haven't really had it long enough to comment on durability.
The price is very reasonable for what you receive, and free shipping from Amazon is the way to go (other places charge you $60 for shipping). The unit is pretty heavy, which may make it a little inconvenient for camping or the like.
My only complaint is that it is only available in green. I would have chosen a different color if I could have.
Although I have never owned a competing product, I can't imagine that any of them would be better.

Good while it lasted Jul 25, 2006
By J. Jones This item was good while it worked... We bought it for camping, as a bug-free dining room. The setup wasn't too hard, but you do need two people to set it up. I also thought the roof material was attached to the frame as it showed in the description, but no such luck. However... we set this screenhouse up on our back deck for use at a cookout. Fortunately the rain came after the party was over. We had the guy lines staked out off of the deck, pulling the roof taught so any rain would run off, but it didn't. It stretched the roof material into these little pockets which hung down inside of the frame and the whole frame collapsed. I'm fortunate that noone was in it at the time. It is bent and mangled beyond and repair. I have contacted the company, but based on other reviews, I don't expect much help from their customer service. I won't buy this again.

well built Aug 09, 2005

I think this unit is one of the best built screenhouses I have ever seen. I too was disappointed that the top was not incorporated into the frame as indicated in the discription. Other than that, I love it.

Columbia Gazebo Screenhouse, Many Uses Jul 28, 2005
By Rick Bones

This is by far one of the best designed and well built items I have ever purchased.
First, the Sun Basin comes in a very nice carry case with rollers. All the parts have convienent storgae pockets.
Removing the screen house was easy and setup was also, quick and easy. Everything you need is supplied except perhaps a big rubber mallet to pound in the stakes.
The screen house unfolds like a big umbrella and stands on it's own supports in a very stabile position. You cover the suports with the roof material and then expand the frame until it is completely set up. Close a few velcro tabs and you are done.
We set ours up on our deck and it has given us a comfortable place to enjoy ourselves. We also take it in our motorhome and use it as an outdoor room.
