 The only shoe my hubby wears. Jul 25, 2010
My husband has been wearing this exact shoe style for the past 10 years. He just got his 4th pair, they really last and look great a long time. Near the end of a pair's life, he'll retire them to "yard work boots" status and get a fresh pair for work and leisure activities. He says they are supremely comfortable and protect his feet and ankles well.

I bought a pair of these Ecco boots in 1994 for $200, twice what most similiar boots were selling for back then, but the immediate comfort level told me I made a good choice. In 1995 I broke my leg in the lower tibia area next to the ankle, and for probably 4 years, this was the only footwear I owned that I could walk in without suffering major discomfort.
They have a soft feel in the sole when walking/hiking, provide excellent grip on trails, and the uppers provide very good ankle support, which I still need 17 years after that broken bone. They are very good looking for hiking style books, especially after a good dose of shoe wax.
I've worn them for everyday use all these years, espcially in the winter as I live in snow country, and now the soles are deteriorating the way other reviewers have discussed. Gee, I only got 16 years of wear out of them. I wonder if they'll replace them for free?

Pros: Perhaps the most comfortable casual shoes I have ever owned. Very light weight, and the fit is perfect. The soles are very soft and seem to take up a great deal of shock from walking. Did I mention, very comfortable. WATERPROOF!
Cons: Pricey! Cost me $220. Fairly warm on the feet, better for cooler temps. Great casual or even walking shoes, BUT, I would not recommend them for hiking. They are quite soft and had too much give on rougher terrain. Not exactly true to size.
I am a little over 6'3", and 285 lbs. And again, they are one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I have ever owned! I read that people had problems with the soles crumbling. I have had mine at least two years, and the soles show very little wear. The foot bed and the insert that comes with the shoes are very comfortable. The leather holds up very well. I have scuffed them a couple of times, but the mark actually rubbed off and is nearly invisible. The store where I bought these had a salesman who was very knowledgeable of ECCO shoes, and in fact was wearing a pair at the time. I wear a 13.5 (size 47 according to the size chart.) in most all shoes. However, I ordered these in a European size 48C and the fit was perfect. I tried another style of ECCO's for size, and the 47's were just too small, so keep that in mind when ordering. These are five stars by me. I just love them.
If You Can Find a Better All-around Boot at Any Price, Buy It! Jan 12, 2010
I just bought a new pair of Ecco Track II Highs -- replacing my previous pair that I wore nearly every day for over 7 years. (I said nearly every day -- I did give them a rest now and then.)
From day one, these boots fit my feet perfectly -- like they were made for my foot! (Absolutely no hot spots or pinching whatsoever.) They are classy looking and work well with casual office attire, yet rugged enough for almost any non-extreme activity. I have used them for absolutely everyting! Slogging around in the rain and light snow, distance hiking, walking, putzing around town, driving, motorcyling, working in the yard, you name it. Light and supple yet still rugged, they provide excellent ankle support and keep your feet dry during wet adventures. They breath exceptionally well also. My old Eccos have been demoted to the Jethro Bodene boot pile, but I still intend to wear the old pair for grubby wear until they just give out completely.
Friends, these Ecco Track II's are simply top quality foot gear that you will be proud to own and pleased to wear. And with just minimal care, they will provide you with years and years of reliable service.

These boots are excellent! They were a gift a few years ago and for every winter they have performed just as well as the first. The traction will not slip like other boots on the snow and ice.
