Great tent! May 12, 2007
By S. Lawson My husband and I decided to try camping and bought a little inexpensive tent from Wal-Mart. Then we "upgraded" to a $100 Coleman model from Target. We awoke every morning to find that our cabin-style tent had partially collapsed. After doing some research, we learned that we needed a better tent in a dome style. I was hesistant to pay so much for nylon, but it ended up being a great deal. We've used the tent for 4 years with no problems. On one camping trip, we endured a terrible storm with high winds and rain. I was sure we were going to blow away! But, we weathered the storm. The next morning, many of our camping neighbors were taking there items to dry in the laundry, but we had stayed dry despite the rough conditions. Just follow the instructions and tie everything down and you'll make it through. The tent looks as good today as it did the day we bought it and we look forward to many more seasons of use. **Note: Remove the room dividers for an open and spacious feel!**

Worst tent we have ever owned Jul 18, 2006
By Happytobeme After much research and reading many reviews we purchased this tent after many years using a similar style generic brand tent. We had high expectations of this tent being able to withstand high winds and rain. Although it set up very easily and looks nice, it failed us in everyway during a short thunderstorm.
During a brief thunderstorm with some mild wind gusts in the midwest the tent rainfly, floors, and walls were saturated with water within minutes. We took in water from all sides (floor, walls, ceiling) of the tent. Even worse, was after the tent material became wet, the walls sagged horribly. This made the walls giant wind sails rather than spreading the wind up and over the tent. The walls blew in on themselves by more than 18 inches I'd say. We thought the tent was going to collapse. The zippers also caught themselves on the tent fabric 50% of the time.
We have camped for years in much worse weather on beach campsites encountering severe high wind and rainstorms along the panhandle of Florida, the Outerbanks, and up in the mountains of Vermont. We are grateful we did not have this tent with us on any of these trips.
We are shocked that such an expensive and highly regarded tent brand would perform so poorly. It was certainly not worth what we paid for it.

Awesome tent Aug 25, 2006
By R. Chessie This tent is very easy to put up after you do it once, although it wasn't that hard the first time. There are only 4 of us (a 4 year old and 1 year old). There was plenty of room for a pack-n--play and 2 air mattresses and we were able to play inside when it was buggy or rainy.
I would highly recommend this tent to a family that was looking for a high quality tent with plenty of room. It is a large tent.

Great tent - bad zippers Jun 30, 2009
By Dean Spent the first night in the tent in the backyard as a trial run before our camping trip. The tent went up fairly easy (needs two people, but with a 9-person tent it is easy to find one other person). Tent appears to be well made, like the other two Eureka tents we have. The problem is with the zippers on the doors. You have to be very careful or you will zip into the tent material. This happened in the middle of the night and when I tried to release the zipper, the zipped part above the zipper came undone. I had to go out another door. I fixed the zipper in the morning, but am disappointed that the zippers are not the same quality as my two other tents. I bought a Eureka, because of the quality I have previous enjoyed. I gave the tent a three because of the difficulty of zipping the doors. Otherwise I would have given it a 5.

Outstanding Apr 30, 2008
By K. McCaleb After a soggy experience with a cheap tent and bad weather, it was decided that we would get a good tent or stop camping. I did my usual excessive research, and the Blue Mesa was the obvious choice. My daughters are still young enough (11 and 9) to want to sleep close to us when we camp, but I anticipate they will want their own "room" in the near future. That is one of the many great features of this tent. The two dividers create private rooms on either end of the tent, each with their own door/window. That leaves a huge space in the center (the master suite) for the parents. When the weather is good, there are large mesh panels in roof the for excellent ventilation and star gazing. With four people in the tent, there is very little condensation on the tent walls in the morning. If the weather is not so good, that is when this tent shines. First and foremost, this tent is completely water tight. The third time we used it we had one of those gusty, stormy summer nights where it just absolutely poured for hours straight. Lots of our fellow campers were driven to their vehicles, but we stayed nice and dry. Not a drop through the top or sides, and even though big puddles were all around the tent, no leakage through the bottom. When the daytime weather doesn't cooperate, this tent is so big that four people easily can sit around a card table without any problem at all and play games without having to move the air mattresses (naps are good too). You can even stand up straight in the center if you're six feet or less. Setting up the tent is a two-person job, but quite simple. The shock-corded poles are about 20 feet long, but only take a minute to assemble and slide in place. If you need the fly, you just lay it upside down on the ground, insert the poles, flip it up on top and hook the corners down. Done. We can set it up in less than 10 minutes, including all stakes and the fly. After four seasons of use, the tent is still like new. The zippers all work flawlessly and the floor is perfect (we bought the ground tarp that is made for this tent). If you want or need a lot of space, don't want to worry about the weather, and want the option of separate rooms then this tent is for you.
