The perfect backpack for people who need lots of compartments. This bag has them in all sizes; it has a section for small items - PDA, cell phone, pens, coins, etc; a small compartment, a medium and large one. The overall feel of the bag is high quality, good straps, padding, zipers, good sturdy fabric. I'd buy it again.

The shape of the backpack is good- plenty of room, seems to be put together OK, lots of space for stuff. BUT-see the black part of the strap where it would sit on the shoulder? There isn't any padding there. It's just 2 layers of heavy webbing sewn together. There is padding further down, but its just flimsy foam that you can't even feel.
My poor kid's shoulders- he was raw after only one day.

I specifically purchased this product for my teenager to take a load off his shoulders and back while staying in style. I wasn't disappointed. Initially, I was afraid my teen wouldn't even wear it as the trend is to purchase back "sacks". I was pleasantly surprised when the "Old School" backpack showed up and he started using it immediately. We live in a city and he uses public transportation and does alot of walking after school. He needs a pack that doesn't drag him down. This pack is not too big nor too small. It's plenty roomy but not bulky. Overall it appears very sporty and efficient. It's too early to write about wear and tear but this user is very happy with purchase. We have purchased alot of backpacks over the years and you can tell that the construction is up to par on this. I love the padded shoulder straps!

The mistake I made was not realizing their isn't a holder/pocket for water on this bag. This bag is not as large as it looks either. I would recommend it for a kid, but not an adult man.

I looked at many backpacks for my boyfriend who travels alot and needed a durable backpack to use. This was the winner! VERY durable! Very roomy without being too bulky. He always comments how comfortable the straps are, even when the pack is full and (I think very) heavy! I strongly recommend this backpack...forgot to mention the price is GREAT for the product!
