Excellent Product Nov 20, 2009 I love this walking stick. Very well made, easy to adjust, anyone one who need a walking stick need to consider using this one. The handle works very well for support. It works well on the ice by removing the rubber plug on the bottom. I really like this cane and have three.
Good Value, Good Product Oct 12, 2009 This is the second Leki walking stick I have owned. It is lightweight, compact when closed and very easy to adjust. When tightened the stick is sturdy enough to support more than the average weight it might be expected to accommodate. I would highly recommend this hiking stick to anyone.

Walking Stick or Cane?.......BOTH! May 05, 2009 I luckily found this one at a popular catalog outlet store in Springfield, Mo in Oct. '07 while visiting my sis-n-law. Well below half the retail price. I snapped it up in an instant. Found all the tip accessories on an on-line retailer at clearance prices too. What a neat stick! I used it in Eureka Springs, Arkansas that has streets like some areas of San Francisco, only steeper! I don't even require a cane on a regular basis, but this was sure a great help on the steep streets there as I am getting a little more unstable. It was better in the extended mode in the Springs. Flat ground around home when walking for exercise just provides a modicum of comfort of having a potential "weapon" at hand. Adjusting it takes some doing and might cause an arthritic person some grief getting it solidly tight. Glad this has the cane-style handle too. Very comfortable and non-slip and "hangable". It will serve well far beyond my usefulness.

well designed Oct 31, 2008 I have used walking sticks for a number of years. I like the collapsible models because they are light and, when collapsed, they fit in the pockets on the backs of airline seats. The Komperdel poles have slightly heavier shafts, but I prefer the handle design on the Leki sticks for the slight hook they have at the end. It makes them real handy for hanging on the backs of chairs, reaching out to extend your grasp and pull objects toward you, or shut doors. The sticks might be a little light for users who need a lot of support, but they work fine for just augmenting your balance. Stay away from the "anti shock" models, which might more properly labeled "anti stability."

utility pole Jul 28, 2008 This is a lightweight collapsible pole which works beautifully in all likely walking circumstance. It comes with a strange little flexible plastic hook attached, & no explanation of its purpose. It's a useful thingummy. Lets you hang the pole on the back of bus & Metro chair rails, you can slide the strap of an umbrella over it & so forth. But I have a feeling it has some other purpose.
