Camping/Traveling Kosher Winner Jan 18, 2008
By S. Zipper This isn't gourmet food - but when you're out at a campsite in the cold and its getting dark and there isn't time to cook, its just the trick. And when you're on a daytrip, it fits right in your pack and you have a decent hot meal.
For travelers to cities which lack kosher restaurants ... again its a winner.
I even shipped a case of assorted varieties of La Briute to Israel, for use by one of my children in the IDF ... it was a sensation, compared to Israeli Army food.
Of the varieties that this company offers, this stew has proven to be the favorite of our strictly kosher Boy Scout Troop, by a vote of 20-1.

Salty, soggy and not too nice Jan 10, 2007
By Phlogiston It is good enough for a quick bite when you don't have a kitchen, but I'd rather avoid it if possible. The picture on the case is pretty misleading too. The beef is gray and the vegetables are pretty miserable. If nothing else is available then it can be choked down without too much objection, but one could get sick of these pretty fast.

Have travelled with these for a couple of years. Don't expect Mom's cooking, but the beef stew is tasty. There's also a packet of soup powder, but I've never tried that. (There's no bowl and I prefer not using the hotel room coffee maker to get coffee-scented soup.) The chocolate cookies are a bit dry. The price is good.
