the best tent I had so far Mar 23, 2008

I bought this tent for me and my wife for our trip to volcanoes that are in the 15.000 ft range. On a recent trip it withstood every kind of tempest (strong winds, heavy rain, fog) and we were both comfortable and with lots of room inside.
The only drawback we experienced is the fact that there are not enough ground hog stakes. The set that comes with the tent is exactly eight stakes short, if you want to stake down the stormlines. I think for a tent in this price range a full set of stakes should be included. I gave it four stars because of that - but see below.
Addition: I contacted the MSR company regarding the missing stakes and they sent me a set of eight stakes completely free. NOW THAT IS GREAT SERVICE. So I changed the four stars to FIVE STARS, definitely well earned.

A solid house... Sep 23, 2004
By F. Campart When I bought this tent, I was sure to buy the ONE. I tested it during summer on high altitude, no problem at all. I felt really safe inside. it was easy to set it up.
The only thing I regret is that there's no window to see outside.

difficult set up Feb 23, 2009
By Matt Hamilton This tent is difficult to set up in ideal circumstances (my living room) and one succeeds 2/3 times. On the mountain it is extremely difficult to set up and nearly killed my partner and I on a February ascent of Long's Peak. One has to pull the poles through sleeves and they get caught up with one another, bunching and not coming together. Otherwise it's a great tent, especially the vestibule. It is bombproof and looks cool. I returned mine after hours of attempting to master the skill of consistently setting it up.
