snow no problem Oct 24, 2007
By J. Keith snow no problem, temperatures in the twenties w/ my girlfriend i mean come on that could have been one bad camping trip without the proper tent.easy to put up/take down fits quite nicely in stuff sack. The only bad note: It looks like a giant pumpkin. I suppose looks dont matter when it comes to survival. very, very nice tent.

A great, large, solid tent Oct 14, 2008
By suprokid Great quality product as with all MSR stuff. Pretty easy to set up and take down-- attached fly is nice. Big inside with lots of headroom, large doors and mesh on both ends w/ quality zippers. Did great in the cold-- two people and three big dogs with temps around freezing and no condensation at all in the morning. Update: Also, MSR has AWESOME support/repair services. We got a rip in the fly (darn dogs running around the tent at full speed!) and sent the tent to MSR & they stitched a whole new piece of cloth in with the loop for the stake and everything and only charged us $20, with free shipping back even!!

MSR 4 Wind Dec 06, 2008
By P. Stripling We bought this in September of 2007 and used it camping in Death Valley over Thanksgiving and at Burning Man in 2008. We use the ridge pole, but we still had strong enough wind in Death Valley to have the tent collapse enough to hit is in the face in our sleeping bag. Many dust storms at the Burn in 2008, and it was not as nearly dust-proof as our Armadillo, but better than other tents. We never use whatever tent pegs come with tents; we use 18-inch rebar or longer, and we're glad we did at both Death Valley and Burning Man.
We have a queen-size air mattress, and it takes up much of the floor space, including enough of the middle that there is no standing headroom within the tent with the mattress anywhere you can put it.
We liked the integrated tent/fly, although it made setting the tent up a little more difficult than normal tents with a separate fly (the poles go through a full-length channel, and it's difficult to do because the fly is arced).
It was around 20 degrees overnight at Death Valley, and we made it fine with our mix of sleeping bags and down comforter. We haven't been out in any precipitation with it, so we can't comment on leakage. It's a seriously heavy-duty tent, and if you're in serious weather, I think it will stand up to much of what nature can throw against you.
