5the Middle Member of a great 3-pot set!  Apr 09, 2009
By willie "roadie"
purchased one each of the 1-, 2-, and 4-qt billy pots by Open Country (actually the National Enameling and Stamping Company in Wisconsin); these pots are design to 'nest,' IOW, the 1 qt fits inside this 2 qt, which then fits inside the 4 qt pot.

this is a handy size, perfect for two people, although a bit big for backpacking (the 1 qt would be better)

considering the cost, this pot is a bargain

however, the aluminum is not hard anodized and will dent easily on each of these pots; the 4 qt can double as a wok (i have used it to steam a dozen oysters, a dozen small clams, and a half-pound of #11-12 Gulf pink shrimp - this pot would only handle a dozen small oysters)

the handle is good; i wish the lift ring on the lid were bigger and easier to grab (i use an Open Country pot lifter i found at a garage sale)

the lid fits tightly, so if you're steaming, you'll need to skew the lid loosely to avoid blow-over - or just simply drill a series of 5 small holes along the outer top edge of the lid - much like the .7L Vargo titanium cookpot)

note that this product is not boxed or protected in any way - my 1 qt billy pot arrived with a small dent (which i rubbed out with a broomstick handle from the inside) - these pots *will* dent, but IMHO, only adds personality and memories of use!

overall though, a good product at a great price and made here in the U.S.A.!

5GREAT little camp cook pot!  Jul 28, 2006
By AMZ-T1 """
This is a GREAT little cooking pot & at a great price!
Amazon also has several other larger ones of the same design.

(how silly of someone to give it only 1-star due to their own
inability to understand the plainly stated capacity-size!)

4Good for Camping  May 21, 2011

This is a cute lil camping cooking pot. It is much smaller than expected but that's okay for it being just me. I wish I had gone with the 4 quart pot to give me a little more cooking space inside the pot for stirring and folding or whatever cooking entails. It really just depends what your cooking and how much your throwing in. I can make a small batch of chili perfectly. I have to say that my experience with this pot has been more indoors than outdoors. The first couple of uses, there was an unusual burning odor coming from the pot which I think was the coating. It went away after a couple of washes but that may have been because I was using the stove top instead of a camp fire. As far as durability, I could definitely see this pot getting worn out quickly. It just depends how much use you plan to put into it.

5perfect pot for camp stew for 2 campers  Jun 18, 2009
By A. Tarabykin
Bought the pot, used it to cook spaghetty and number of other dishes on propane stove (it sits on it sturdy with no problems). Lightweight, strong. Non-stick cover created no problems for a pot so far and it is probably easier to clean (well, it is pretty easy to clean this pot with a little bit of soap and a wash cloth). I think it's pretty much all right.

5Perfect pot for two!!  Oct 20, 2008
By S. Shrader "Bio Gal"
I have used my pot many times while camping over the summer and fall this year, and I absolutely LOVE it! It is easy to clean, perfect sized for two people, and who can complain with the price!? I have used it to make soup directly in the hot coals and still it held up well and cleaned up just fine. The handle is also just right for the pot to be hung from a tripod. If you love camping and a great deal on cookware, go ahead and buy this billy pot!
