Schrade design is TOPS Jul 02, 2011
By T.R. I bought my ProHunter about 4 years ago in 2007. It's the Chinese model but I've had zero problems with this knife. Fit and finish matches knives costing hundreds more. Leather sheath is nicely molded and grips the knife securely. My hands are large but this knife fits me well. I hunt in Maryland;last year I rec'd 12 deer tags with my license. This knife rec'd much use. My sharpening technique is a few swipes upon angled ceramic rods. Doesn't take much to keep the edge nice and keen! In summary, I like this knife very much and highly recommend it.

Simple yet beautiful May 10, 2010

I was looking for a knife in the way of a Buck 119, but when I stumbled across this one the search ended immediately. The Schrade PH1 has a fair amount of weight to it, just enough to take advantage of it's ridiculously sharp blade. Mine came with a leather lanyard as well as a leather sheath. As practical as it is simple, I'll be using mine as a survival/hunting knife as it should make short work of any and all tasks I might come across, and if I lose it(which would break my heart) I'll just buy another because it only cost around 20-35 bucks.

Disappointment Nov 28, 2010
By gregK I bought the same knife at the show last weekend - I was very impressed with the design, balance and materials. I thought I could use another one - it was so well made. I found the same knife on Amazon - it was much cheaper! I immediately bought 2! When they arrived they were representations of the great design but Made in China. Fit was very poor, sheath was a joke (completely useless)and I will not comment on the quality of the blade. Very disappointed. You get what you pay for. Look for the older versions Made in USA - they are worth the higher price. Just a question for Schrade - at the show people were buying knives left and right in the range of $50 to $250 - do you really have to make it in China where people are paid pennies and the difference goes to the middle man?
