Description:

Merino Wool liner for added warmth and protection from colder temperatures. Single layer construction. Flip Over Hood allows users to flip the hood inside out giving the option of a flat hood or a fully contoured hood. Easy Access Drawcords with Barrel Lock Closures permit closure of drawcords on hood and storm collar. The cords are either flat or round, allowing users to easily adjust storm collars and hoods in low light situations. Hook and Loop Closures provide firm closure of the bag and prevent zippers from separating or opening. Anti-Snag Zipper Protection is sewn along the draft tube and zipper to ensure reliable zipper operation. Internal Collars are baffles sewn to the liner, used to prevent heat loss from the neck and shoulders. Draft Tubes are baffles sewn adjacent to the zipper to keep cold air out and prevent heat loss through the zipper coils. Weather Wedge is a small piece of triangular fabric that is sewn at the base of the zipper to prevent heat loss at the zipper's bottom. This also reduces stress at the point where the zipper is sewn for greater durability. Trapezoid Foot Box provides space in which the feet remain in a natural position for better comfort. Compression stuff sack included.

Termperature rating is wrong Apr 14, 2008

This sleeping bag looks great. It is light and comfortable as long as it does not get below 40F.

I went camping with the Slumberjack Kepler 20F Regular Right Sleeping Bag and the temperature went a little below the freezing point on a couple of occasions. I had terrible nights both time. I took off my cloth, wore more cloth and there was nothing to do, I was cold.

The temperature rating on the bag is wrong. The sleeping bag is at best a 40F. I ended returning the bag. Amazon's service was great.

I bought this sleeping bag for a backpacking trip in Europe. I slept indoors every night, but I can imagine that it wouldn't be very warm on a cold camping trip. It is lightweight and it does compress down to a great size. It is nice and roomy at the head and I was very comfortable in it. I didn't like that the zipper was very short on it. I wanted to be able to unzip it further, because it felt like I had to shimmy down into it. With such a short zipper, I wasn't able to hang a leg out either. I lost it in the airport on the way home, but I wouldn't buy it again because I would like something that will be warmer for outdoor camping. It was great for the backpacking, though.

This bag is very comfortable and packs relatively small, but on the downside it is a bit heavy and the merino wool liner is sometimes itchy (particularly after a hike when dried sweat is on you). It is spacious on the inside for those who like to some wiggle room. But this also affects the overall warmth. I tried it out when the temperature got a to be about 25 degrees and the bag was pretty cold, but after putting on some shirts, tights, socks, sock cap.... it was toasty. So the rating is a bit off. But overall it is a well rounded bag for three season backpacking and will do the job.
