great bag for light travel Mar 20, 2007

Bought this sleeping bag for its light weight. Great for warmer weather hiking, camping. Also liked the expandable foot area, as mummy-style bags are too narrow for comfortable sleeping (for me - my feet have to have room..).
40 degrees? May 21, 2010
By Frank T. Steele I understand that just about any Synthetic sleeping bag under $200 is going to be overrated, probably by 10 degrees. But man is this bag waaaaay off. I bought one of these years ago before i really got into backpacking (i.e. didn't know a thing) night during cub scout camping season rarely hit 40 degrees here in Arizona, so I bought this bag excited that it was only 2 1/2 lbs. Well, I froze my butt of on several mid to low 50's nights in this Piece of crap. I have since learned how to buy a good sleeping bag, which invariably means ignoring all slumberjack bags.
Not a 40 degree bag Jul 09, 2009

I bought two of these for lightweight camping in MN this summer. Don't plan on being anywhere near comfortable down to 40 degrees. This is a 50 to 55 degree bag at best. It also seems shorter than most regulars I have been in, and I had problems with the zipper getting stuck/coming off every night. Mine is going back, used or not.
Forty Degree is optimistic Apr 25, 2009
By Teddgram This is a great SUMMER bag, but if you are even thinking about using this for spring or fall (the temps here in Michigan get into the 40-50 degree range at night) look elsewhere. My feel never got warm, which lead me to find my extra thick socks in the middle of the night while everyone else was rather warm in their bags. My kids have the Super Guide 30 and they were sweating. To make matters worse, the zipper in the footbox occasionally came open in the middle of the night to add to my late night chill.
Great concept--bad sewing! Jun 10, 2007

I bought this bag recently--and it seemed to good to be true. Unfortunately, it is. Its zipper is wierdly placed--too high to get into easily--and of VERY poor quality (It has a "bottom" part to it, when there's no place to go but off the track... I was actually fighting to get it into its groove in the middle of the night... The compression sack's seams were already bursting this AM (1st use!) and there were shreds of blue polyester scattered around my new tent's floor. Sigh... It's a great idea of Slumberjacks, to have the mummy bag with a zipper to give your feet more room if it's warm and you want that comfort. The compression is amazing...but the quality is, well, not there at all. I bought mine at Campmor, but it's the same price here at Amazon. I suggest going for one of their higher priced onsale bags--even the $40 LL Bean Bag has great zippers and will last until your grandchildren have forgotten what camping is...this is, well, crappy. Too bad! Good weight, good shape. I'm going to try one of their higher up the line models, and take my chances with Chinese manufacturing.
