Does not last; No customer service Feb 15, 2009 I hope my experience helps you avoid the costly buyer's remorse I experienced.
The visual appearance is good - it appears to be more substantial than the average Made in China air mattress. It was not really "Self Inflating," since you must blow some air into it to inflate. Still, that would be OK with me if the product worked.
My 95-pound daughter used this just four times, all indoors. The bottom seam separated on the fourth night. I do not mean that any pinhole leaks developed - rather, the bottom seam/junction just separated. And, you can see that for inches on either side of the hole that the seam is beginning to loosen there as well.
Emails to customer service went unanswered for either warranty support or even repair instructions.
No matter what the price you pay, this mattress seems unlikely to last long enough to give value. And, customer service is non-existent.

Great Price, Does not last long! Aug 31, 2008 I have purchased over 4 of these... all under $25 each.
One came out of the package with a split seam and the others lasted one, maybe two trips. I now have an REI self inflating pad.

Blew out on the first night Jul 26, 2007 I followed the instructions and inflated it and deflated it overnight before I left for a camping trip. The first night when I laid down on it the mattress blew out a hole in it and all the air escaped. I weigh less than 200lbs so it should not be a weight issue. I also noticed before that like many of the other reviews this is not really a 'Self Inflating Mat' since you have to finish filling it up with air by blowing in it. It may become self inflating over time as the foam expands, unfortunately mine did not last long enough to allow me to test that.

It's just okay Jul 13, 2007 I bought this mat because it was a lot less expensive than many of the Thermarest options out there and I needed something quick. Like others have said, it does not inflate very well on it's own and takes a good few breaths to get it to inflate to a comfortable thickness. The attached pillow is a very nice feature and is separately adjustable from the main mat to fit your preference.
The sleeping area itself is my only complaint. Wegner should have put in more rivet points or use another method to keep the pad more flat and even. When sleeping on this mat, most of the air goes to the area where there is the least weight: the feet. It took some adjusting to get my feet from flying into the air when I laid down or rolled over, but it is possible to find a reasonably comfortable position on this mat. The attached pack straps are handy to keep the mat closed too.
Overall, I would say this mat is decent for the low price and having an attached pillow is nice. It might be a bit bulky for those that like to backpack, but is good for the car camper.

Not as fluffy as it looks Jan 31, 2007 The product did self-inflate, but not very much. Left on it's own, it's only as comfortable as the non-inflatable mats (like thick yoga mat). I ended up giving 4 full breaths of air to make it comfortable. With so much air, you barely feel the foam in the mat, which made me upset because I've been on nicer self-inflating mats that rose the full 1.5" and didn't need additional breaths. The pillow's convenient too. Weight is medium to heavy but still portable. Best left to car-camping. I've used it many times for sleepovers and it's very durable. Wish it came with a sack, but the compression straps are ok.
