NOT just for the fisherman Dec 06, 2006

First off I need to tell you that I've carried a swiss knife since I was a kid. I have most of the styles. But this one stands out as the absolute most useful for a rather strange reason. For me since I don't fish I found more uses for this in the most unexpected area. The "fish scaler" tool is one that I would NEVER use to scale fish for no other reason than the problem of having to clean it thoroughly, too much work. But this tool I have used more than any other on all my knives. I've used it to open ceiling hatches to change office lights, pick locks. to measure things (something you need more often than you think), to reach into thin areas to clear debris or push a switch and most of all as a back scratcher. Since there are no sharp edges on the scaler it's perfect to scratch those areas one can't reach. That's not to ignore all the rest of the tools this knife offers which I use except for the absurd "parcel hook". This tool is useless and yet Victorinox continues to install it on many knives. The only useful task I've found for the hook is to tighten one's laces on my boots when I snow shoe. Anyone else found something useful for the parcel hook? Please post it if you have.

Swiss Army Knife - Never Leave Home Without It. Oct 18, 2008
By Frank J. Walter

I had to surrender a 30 year old copy of this knife at the airport security checkin because I forgot to pack it in my checked luggage.
I was on vacation for two weeks and felt naked without it. I ordered this replacement as soon as I got home.
I take this knife everywhere wether its work or a formal gathering.
It is rugged and indespensible.
What more can I say.

One of the best utility products I can count on every ocasion (except for airplanes, never try to sneak one with you on the plane, or you'll never see it again, home security you know). Use it with a belt pouch like the Lockblade Belt Pouch - Cordura from Swiss Army or the Victorinox Knives Medium Pocketknife Belt Pouch - Nylon from Victorinox or the Wenger Ballistic Pouch - Nylon from Wenger.

Victorinox Fisherman Pocket Knife Aug 13, 2011
By doob I bought this thing and put it in my tackle box, the scissors are good for cutting the excess line off of the hook. I haven't used much anything else on it yet, due to the fact that I haven't had time to go fishing as much as I'd want to. I still like this knife alot thought, and I'd recommend it for anyone's tackle box.
