4Tent  Jul 27, 2010
This tent is pretty cool...Has TONS of space in it. With the rain guard off, it feels totally open, for star gazing. The two side ends of the tent you cant stand up completely in them, which is fine for us, seeing thats where we put our beds. We had one queen air mattress and a twin, both at opposite ends of the tent, and we still had plenty of walking room in the middle.. MORE than enough room for a card table and other things.. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is because of the zippers.. think they could be better contructed. The big zippers for the doors seem to be fine for now, but the little side zippers down towards the bottom of the tent, that are for airflow I believe got stuck, and I had to get out the vasoline to get it fixed.. Other than that, great tent!!

4Good tent, when used properly.  Apr 20, 2010
Bottom Line:
============
I've owned this tent for almost 8 years, and it's served me well. We've had no problems, aside from a broken elastic cord in the pole, but this is common with all dome tents, and was easily fixable with my tent repair kit that I always keep on hand. You will need to water proof this tent just like any other tent you buy. (Using a waterproofing spray and seam sealer.) Setup is fairly simple. I am able to do it by myself, but it is easier and faster with a partner.

Other Details:
==============
Waterproofing:
--------------
Unless specified on the package or product listing, no tent is waterproof, EVER. All tents must be treated and waterproofed prior to use in wet weather. Even if you waterproof, I do suggest a covering with a secure tarp if you plan on camping in areas that expect moderate to strong storms, though for knowledgeable campers, this is common sense for all tents.

The fly (separate red cover) on this tent does not offer protection from elements, but it does cover a nice feature for this tent: Almost 100% of the tent under the fly is screen. This means no waking up drenched from sweat because it's as hot as an oven in your tent under the morning sun. The screen allows for significant airflow ventilation without having to lose privacy opening the windows.

Setup:
------
I can do it by myself with moderate struggle, but it's easy with two people, and should be setup within 15-20 minutes for new campers. I do have some trouble securing the fly if I'm setting the tent up myself, but after practice, I've worked out a method that works. You will too.

Size & Quality:
---------------
The size of this tent is nice. The 2 of us adult are able to sleep comfortably, on a king-size inflate mattress, with ample room for gear, and two large dog crates in the other "bedroom" end. With minimal gear, and sleeping bags, this tent could easily sleep 4-5 adults comfortably.

I was impressed with the durability of this tent. I'm not gentle or careful with my camping gear and other than the broken pole (which again, was my fault, and a common breakage for all dome tents) there have been no problems.

3A Tent With Strengths  Mar 19, 2010
We have owned this tent for four years, and have enjoyed it a great deal. The positives are: bang for the buck, size, and realtive ease of set-up. The primary short-coming of this tent is the zippers. We have experienced regular "fabric chewing" when using the zippers. This has led to progressive weaknening of the zipper integrity, and then complete zipper failure on one of the doors.

Did we get our monies-worth? I suppose so. However, I am now in the position of determining if it is more cost-effective and worth the effort to replace a zipper, or to buy a new tent.

5I love it!  Feb 17, 2010
I love it! Easy to set up and worth the price, although I live in CA and do most of my camping here in great weather, if you are going to be in rainy or very cold weather I would get a different tent.

5simple and large  Feb 01, 2010
This tent is nice and big, not as big as it sounds by the dimensions, but still big as far as tents go. It took me by myself 15 min to set up after scanning the directions, but this isn't my first tent. Proper tear down repack took 10 min and had to be rolled very tightly to fit back in the supplied bag but all parts fit. Excellent buy!
